ABOUT

With over eight years of experience as a podiatrist, I have developed a broad and in-depth expertise in all aspects of foot and ankle care. My journey began in rural South Australia, where I worked as a graduate podiatrist managing high-risk patients with complex foot wounds and lower limb amputations. Working independently with minimal specialist input fostered my adaptability, clinical innovation, and confident decision-making under pressure.

I later progressed to a senior role in private practice, where I broadened my scope to include biomechanical assessments, paediatric podiatry, and ingrown toenail surgery. This well-rounded foundation in both high-risk and general podiatry care gave me a strong platform for international practice.

After relocating to the UK, I joined the NHS in a musculoskeletal specialist role based at a hospital in Derbyshire. I currently run outpatient podiatry services for the rheumatology and orthopaedics departments, while also working closely with the diabetic foot team to provide care for high-risk patients. My daily caseload includes complex foot conditions, chronic musculoskeletal issues, and diabetic foot management.

In addition to my podiatry degree, I hold a degree in Pedorthics, which equips me with the skills to manufacture custom orthotics and footwear to address a wide range of lower limb conditions. I am also trained and qualified in administering corticosteroid injections in the foot and ankle—training I completed under the guidance of a podiatric surgeon and specialist team. This includes both ultrasound-guided and anatomically landmarked techniques, delivered in a community setting to improve access and reduce barriers for patients needing targeted pain relief.

My extensive clinical experience has also led to opportunities beyond direct patient care. I have taken an active role in delivering musculoskeletal education and clinical support across the wider Derbyshire Community Health Services podiatry team—consisting of over 100 podiatrists. Through training sessions, case discussions, and clinical mentorship, I help enhance service-wide knowledge and confidence in musculoskeletal podiatry. This role allows me to contribute to improved outcomes not just at the individual level, but across the entire community podiatry network.

This diverse and comprehensive background allows me to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care for a wide range of foot and ankle concerns—while also supporting the ongoing development of podiatric practice in the UK.
